About Marlborough Lines
The Marlborough Lines Group is involved in the delivery of electricity to some 47,600 customers in the Marlborough, Nelson and Otago regions of New Zealand. We are an infrastructure business; responsible for managing and maintaining the electricity network assets that deliver power to customers from the national grid.
Marlborough Lines Limited (the Parent company) is Marlborough based. Unlike many other regional networks the Company has a single point of supply (in Blenheim) with an extensive sub-transmission system and zone substations.
Our supply network extends into a number of very isolated areas (including the Marlborough Sounds) that pose unique challenges for electricity supply. Despite the low population density and remoteness of a significant proportion of our territory, the Company consistently maintains a very high level of network reliability. Marlborough Lines is recognised as an industry leader in the operation and maintenance of rural electricity networks. The Company also operates significant contracting entities in both the Marlborough and Otago regions.
