Marlborough Lines Science and Technology Fair 2010

Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd September 2010
Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000:

The 2010 Marlborough Lines' Science and Technology Fair promises to be just as fascinating and inspiring as in previous years. Marlborough's students once again display an amazing range of scientific exploration and application skills.

The aim of the Science Fair is to promote a greater interest in science and technology amongst youth of all ages. Primary, intermediate and secondary school students (either individually or in groups) are encouraged to develop scientific investigations and technological solutions in a competition that is initially held within their own school. The projects that  are successful at each local school level  then compete at a regional level where they are exhibited to the public.

The first Auckland Science Exhibition was held in 1995 and since then many other regional Science Fairs have been organised throughout New Zealand. Marlborough's fair has continued to evolve since the regions first event over 30 years ago. For the past 18 years it has been run as a partnership of Blenheim Lions, local schools and teachers, with Marlborough Lines as lead sponsor and a large number of other community sponsors.

Marlborough Lines is a long-standing advocate of the need for increased youth interest in science and is committed to assisting our local schools enhance student interest in science and technology.
