The Marlborough Lines 2012 Tertiary Study Awards were presented today by the company's Managing Director, Ken Forrest, at a ceremonly held at the Heartland Hotel.
The Awards were established in 1991 after the then Board of Directors recognised there was no acknowledgment in Marlborough for high achievers who were intending to continue their studies at tertiary level. Since then (including this year) nearly 200 students have received Awards.
The recipients of the Awards are selected by Marlborough Secondary Schools independently of Marlborough Lines.
Over the years the recipients of the Tertiary Study Awards have gained distinction in various fields of study and in their chosen professions.
A total of $18,500 has been awarded this year to seven recipients who are going on to study a diverse range of subjects at learning institutions throughout the country. Marlborough Lines is very pleased to be able to assist such a dynamic group of bright young students.
