Earthquake Update

4.15pm: This afternoon’s earthquakes caused a number of faults to the Marlborough electricity network.
Five of the 16 zone substations initially lost power following the earthquakes causing outages to the southern parts of Blenheim and down the coast to Waipapa Point.
Power has already been restored to some of these substations including the essential services line, which includes the Wairau Hospital, as well as most of the central Blenheim area.
There are a number of customers from Riverlands south who remain without power.
The staff at Marlborough Lines are working to restore power to the remaining affected customers and will continue to do so.
We would like to remind the public to treat all lines as live at all times.
Our emergency fault line is available by phoning 577 7007 to allow the public to notify us of damage to the network.
